Pierre Dumoussaud emerged on the opera scene in 2017 after winning the International Competition for Opera Conductors. In 2022, he received the Victoires de la Musique award for Best New Conductor and was honored as Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres. He has since conducted major productions in Europe—from Hamlet at Paris Opera to Madama Butterfly in Rouen and Mignon at the Bayerische Staatsoper.
His discography reflects his passion for 19th- and 20th-century French music, featuring recordings such as Pelléas & Mélisande, Offenbach’s complete Voyage dans la Lune (a 2022 International Opera Award winner), and Messager’s Les P’tites Michu. Trained at the Paris Conservatory, he now collaborates with leading orchestras worldwide.
