The soprano Mercedes Arcuri was born in Buenos Aires and studied at the Instituto Superior de Arte of the Teatro Colón. She was a finalist in a number of international singing competitions, such as the International Singing Competition of Logroño in Spain.

For 10 years she has been developing her career in Europe, and since the 19/20 season, she is member of the Staatsoper Hannover ensemble.

Mercedes Arcuri has also developed a wide repertoire in the field of Baroque music in particular, appearing in works by Purcell, Charpentier and Handel. Additionally she has worked with the ensemble Sphera AntiQva, an orchestra principally dedicated to South-American baroque music.
