Over the years Brussels Philharmonic and music director Stéphane Denève have been a hit at home and abroad with their approach which is meanwhile quite familiar: a personal blend of 21st-century music, French and Russian composers, and soloists playing passionately on the podium.
An approach that also works wonderfully when recorded: a first CD was recorded for Deutsche Grammophon in 2016 on the work of Guillaume Connesson (a second one is planned in September 2018), and last year there was the CD ‘Prokofiev: Romantic Suites’ with its unique interpretation of the classic ballet pieces by the Russian great master.
