The music chapel in Waterloo may be surrounded by the beech trees of the Sonian Forest, but this autumn the students will be spending time among the Italian cypresses. For their annual Music Chapel Festival, they make an auditory journey through the ‘land of the boot’ that has dominated music history and inspired composers for centuries.
The orchestra provides the symphonic branch of the festival for the first time with Belgian conductor Martijn Dendievel as tour guide. Respighi’s Pini di Roma and Berlioz’ Harold in Italy will be on the menu, too.
