Forces in Motion promises an edgy experience in an unusual setting. Anthony Braxton’s cult work, Creative Orchestra Music, is about to celebrate its 50th anniversary, but the idiosyncratic blend of avant-garde and big band still propels you forward. In Diamonds, Alvin Lucier dismantles the orchestra, leaving behind a hallucinatory listening experience where the sound itself takes center stage.
Mariam Rezaei and Matthew Shlomowitz add turntables to the symphonic palette in a brand new work, which will have its Belgian premiere here.
