In the heart of London, a stone’s throw from Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, stands the Cenotaph. A gigantic limestone tombstone that commemorates the (British) victims of both world wars.

Inspired by the monument, composer Simon Haw wrote an equally moving requiem of the same name. Together with the iconic bearskins of the Band of the Grenadier Guards, the Brussels Philharmonic and the Vlaams Radiokoor perform this music on the eightieth anniversary of The Liberation.
