Tragic love, epic rhetoric and an all-consuming passion form the golden thread in this programme. The dramatic love of Samson et Dalila by Saint-Saëns, of Tristan und Isolde by Wagner, and the ultimate lover left behind broken-hearted in Strauss’ Don Juan. The magical world of Fellini, with music by Nino Rota, fits in perfectly.

The CDwith the Nino Rota Concerto for harp, performed by Anneleen Lenaerts and Brussels Philharmonic, was released by Warner in april 2019.

Camille Saint-Saëns • Danse Bacchanale (Samson et Dalila, op. 47)
Nino Rota • Concerto per arpa e orchestra
Richard Strauss • Don Juan, op. 20
Nino Rota • "La Strada" Suite
